ABSTRACT

Pumping tests were carried out in borehole KR5 during 7.1.-3.2.1997 and in borehole KR8
during 3.-21.4.1997 at Kivetty. Boreholes were sealed with mechanically expanded packer. At
the borehole KR5 hydraulic head of the pumping section was measured by automatic data
acquisition system (Telog and pressure probe). The upper section was measured with contact
meter. At the depth of pumping section borehole KR5 penetrates a major fracture zone R29.
Hydraulic head in the monitoring boreholes and wells KR1, KR4, KR10, EP2 and EP5 were
measured by automatic data acquisition system. The other monitoring boreholes and wells
(KR2, KR3, KR8, KR9, KR11, EP4, EP7, EP8, L16 and L18) were measured with contact
meter. At the borehole KR8 hydraulic head of the pumping section was measured both by
automatic data acquisition system (Telog and pressure probe) and contact meter. At the depth
of pumping section borehole KR8 penetrates fracture zone R26. Hydraulic head in the
monitoring boreholes and wells (KR1, KR2, KR3, KR4, KR5, KR9, KR10, KR11, EP6, EP7,
EP8 and PA5) were measured by contact meter.

Mean while pumping the borehole KR5 the hydraulic head was lowered in several observation
points: KR1, KR2, KR4, KR9, KR11, EP2, EP5, L16 and L18. Pumping at the borehole KR8
lowered the hydraulic head in observation points KR1, EP7 and EP8.

Pumping test was carried out at Romuvaara in borehole KR4 during 18.3.-8.4.1997. The bore-
hole was sealed with three inflatable packers. The hydraulic heads in different sections were
measured with contact meter. At the depth of pumping section borehole KR4 penetrates
fracture zones R13, R10B and possibly fracture zone R12. Hydraulic head in the monitoring
boreholes and wells (KR1, KR2, KR3, KR5, KR6, KR7, KR8, KR9, KR10, EP2, EP4 and EP7)
were measured with contact meter.

Mean while pumping the borehole KR4 the hydraulic head was lowered in observation points
KR1, KR8 and EP4.
