ABSTRACT

Hästholmen in Loviisa and Kivetty in Äänekoski are investigation sites, which were
selected for detailed investigations. be carried out during years 1993...2000.

As a part of the investigation program Suomen Malmi (Smoy) core drilled at Hästholmen
in Loviisa and at Kivetty in Äänekoski boreholes in 1997. The deviations of the
boreholes were measured as well.

The aim measurements carried out in the boreholes HH-KR1, HH-KR2, HH-KR3, HH-KR4,
KI-KR12 and KI-KR13 are described in this report.

The purpose of the deviation measurements is to determine the exact position of the
borehole. The deviation measurements in the boreholes were carried out using two
different deviation devices. After data processing differences were found in the
inclination results. The differences could not be explained by errors in accurancy.

The reasons for different results measured with the two devices are described in this
report. In the report are described the reference measurements made with a three
component magnetometer and an inclination measuring device. The corrections to the
original data are described in the report and a recommendation for the measuring
technique made given.
