Mika Pohjonen appointed as Sales Director of Posiva

Mr. Mika Pohjonen has been appointed as Sales Director of Posiva Oy as of 7 March 2016.

- Posiva's final disposal solution for spent nuclear fuel developed by pioneering research and development work has attracted wide international interest in other nuclear power countries. This is the right time to take advantage of our specialized knowledge gained during decades and promote commercialization of the Finnish final disposal expertise. In Finland, we have several companies with unique, multidisciplinary expertise in nuclear waste management. I am convinced that Mr. Pohjonen with his competence and expertise is the right person to develop cooperation between companies in this sector and lead Posiva's international service business, says Janne Mokka, President of Posiva.

Mr. Pohjonen has over 25 years of international experience in the energy sector. He has previously held various sales and management positions in the engineering and management consulting business, e.g. in Fortum Oyj and Pöyry. Moreover, Mr. Pohjonen has broad expertise in the nuclear energy business acquired in numerous projects in Finland and in almost all European countries that utilize nuclear energy, as well as in the Middle East. He has also worked as an invited expert in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on several occasions.
