31.05.2010 The final disposal project proceeds at the terms of safety
YLE has published a story on its website and morning news on TV Channel One which states that the final disposal schedule is too tight. Posiva’s response and clarifications related to the story are presented below.
24.03.2010 Experts assembled for the TKS Seminar at the Finlandia Hall
Posiva’s research, development and planning work extending to year 2012 (the TKS-2009 programme) was presented to the company’s domestic and international partners at the Finlandia Hall on 10 March 2010. The TKS-2009 programme, finalised last autumn and submitted to the authorities, is a document with more than 500 pages describing the research, development and planning work central to the construction licence application for the disposal facility.
19.03.2010 Posiva signs an agreement with Rakennustyöt Ville Kauppi Oy
Part of the ventilation and hoisting equipment buildings of the ONKALO area will be constructed in the next few months. The construction work covers thousands of square metres.
03.03.2010 Posiva Oy awarded an environmental certificate
On 7 February 2010, DNV Certification Oy awarded Posiva an environmental certificate based on the ISO 14001:2004 standard.

04.12.2009 Start of excavation work for the ventilation and hoist building
Excavation work for the ventilation and hoist building has begun at the ONKALO construction site at the end of November and will continue until January. Contractor for the excavation work is Lännen Kaivuu ja Louhinta OY. The ventilation and hoist building will be completed during 2011, after which the ventilation of ONKALO will be handled through it.
30.10.2009 Posiva aiming to submit a construction licence application in 2012
The TKS–2009 programme prepared by Posiva, outlining the research, development and technical design work related to spent nuclear fuel disposal, was submitted to the Ministry of Employment and the Economy at the end of September.

27.01.2009 Certification granted to Posivas Quality System
ISO 9001:2000 certificate was granted to Posivas Quality System on 15 December 2008 with Det Norske Veritas AS (DNV) as the certification body.
